Setting up for online yoga classes from home is easy!

This section will help you prepare for your online yoga classes, ensuring you have a smooth and effective experience. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, our goal is to support your journey towards wellness and inner peace. Here are some steps to get you started:

A. Technical Setup

Equipment Needed:

1. Camera Setup: To ensure you have the best experience during your online yoga classes, it is important to set up your camera correctly. If you do not have a laptop, you can still use your phone and enjoy the class. However, we recommend using a laptop or a larger screen device to ensure the instructor is visible even from a distance. Place your device at a distance of 6-8 feet to allow the instructor to see your entire body and mat. This distance is especially important for standing postures. For sitting postures, you can place the device closer.

2. Microphone/Speakers: For better sound quality, use the integrated mic on your device or an external microphone. If the instructions are less audible, you can connect your phone or laptop to external speakers. When practicing yoga outside your room, external sounds may cause hearing difficulties. In such cases, we recommend using in-ear buds or external Bluetooth speakers, which are especially useful for standing postures when the device is placed further away.

3. Tripod: If you plan to attend online yoga classes using your phone, you might need a tripod, or a selfie stick to hold your device steady during the session. You can order one online for around NPR 400 to 500. Here’s a sample tripod and a selfie stick (we don’t receive commission for product recommendations).

4. Lighting: Ensure you are clearly visible to the instructor. For early morning or late-night sessions, face towards indoor lighting. During the day, position yourself facing a window to use natural light.

B. Internet Requirements:

Speed and stability:

  • Ensure a stable and reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps for smooth video streaming and to avoid interruptions during the class.
  • Broadband connections are usually faster, but 4G-enabled mobile phones and SIMs should work well too.
  • Choose a yoga spot with a strong internet connection. If practicing on a terrace or balcony, consider placing the router closer to avoid interruptions.

C. Software and Platforms:

We recommend having both Zoom and Google Meet installed on your device. Although we will primarily use one platform, having both available allows us to switch to the other in case of technical issues with the primary platform.

Google Meet:

  • If you’re an Android phone user, Google Meet is quite accessible. It often comes preinstalled on Android devices, but if not, you can easily download it from the Google Play Store. You can use Google Meet with your Google account or any other email account.
  • For iPhone users, simply download Google Meet from the App Store.
  • We might send you meeting links in two ways:
  • A direct link that you click to join the class, using the same email you registered with.
  • A link with a meeting code, which you can enter to join the meeting.
  • On the laptop, it is even easier as you do not even need to download the Google meet app. Simply click the link provided to you and enter the meeting code, that’s it. You just need to check if the meeting opens with the email you registered with us (most probably on the top tight corner). You can change the email while on the page and is just like switching between accounts in your Gmail.

Zoom:

For laptop or PC users,

  1. Go to www.zoom.us
  2. Sign up with your email. We suggest you use the same email id used to register for online yoga classes with us. Remember your login email and password (you can auto save login credentials to the browser, but we also recommend writing it down as a backup).
  3. You can also download and install the ZOOM application (.exe) on your computer for faster access.
  4. Login to the desktop app (use of application is recommended instead of browser for better experience)
  5. If you are a first time ZOOM user, it will ask permission to use your microphone and camera. Make sure you provide them with access during the on-screen process.
  6. You are ready to use the app for classes.
  7. You can contact us for any kind of technical support required to install and login to the application software.

For mobile phone (android)

  1. Open google play store
  2. Install ZOOM app
  3. You can sign up/register in the same way as above, just follow the on-screen instructions on the app.
  4.  During registration process, ZOOM asks you to verify your account so make sure you check you email inbox and verify it.
  5. After you successfully create your account, login to the application using your login email and password.
  6. Now you’re ready to use the app for classes.
  7. You can contact us for any kind of technical support required to install and login to the application software.

If you are an iPhone user, you can download the app from your app store and follow the same process as above for installation

D. Creating the right environment

Space Setup:

a. Calm and Clutter-Free: Choose a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Clear the area of any unnecessary items, especially those that are hard and could interfere with your practice. You will need a minimum area of around 6 ft by 3 ft for comfortable practice. Placing your mat near a wall can be beneficial for support during certain yoga poses.

b. Mat Placement: Ensure your yoga mat is placed on a flat, non-slip surface. We recommend using a rubber yoga mat or any other non-slip mat. If you have a thick carpet with slight fur that doesn’t cause discomfort, you can use that as well. For PVC flooring, a non-slip mat is especially important. While it’s not compulsory, purchasing a good mat can help you stay committed to your lifelong yoga practice journey. Here’s a sample product for your convenience. If this seems expensive, feel free to choose a mat that fits your budget. Please note, we do not receive any commission for recommending this product; our goal is simply to help you make informed decisions more conveniently.

To book a class, click on the ‘Book Now’ button for your desired package. This will take you to the registration form. Select your package from the dropdown menu and complete the form. After submitting, you’ll be directed to the checkout page where you can review your order. Enter your billing details and click ‘Place Order and Proceed to Secure Payment’. Here, you can choose your preferred payment method: mobile banking, internet banking, e-wallets, or cards. Once your payment is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email. We will send you the yoga class link shortly after verifying your payment.

Our classes encompass traditional Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa styles.

Yes, we offer private classes. Currently, these classes are scheduled outside of our group class hours and are conducted online only. You can book a private yoga session here.
